Friday Post: PiMAME 0.7.8 with NES Support

Edit: PiMAME 0.7.8 is now uploaded!

Hey All!

Happy Friday!  First week of classes is over.  Woo!

PiMAME 0.7.8 is coming this weekend.  The major enhancements are that NES emulation is supported through AdvMESS.  I have also used the updated version of PiFBA which now has 2 player support.

I hope you all enjoy it!

  2. Do you still look into supporting controllers in the retropie menu? This would make your ROM perfect as you wouldn’t need a keyboard at all if you had it configured once.

FBA addition is great news. CPS2 performance has come a long way since I last checked out the pi. Hopefully you can help me with a problem. When I boot up the pi, the video fits within my screen boundaries, but when I launch FBA, I am losing several inches all around and can’t see the menu options, etc. I tried playing with the overscan setting but it did nothing. Any ideas?

  3. Tried to register on pimame.org forums, but I haven’t received a confirmation email yet after a few hours, so I’ll ask my question here in the mean time (different from the one I already posted).

Playing Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo in FBA, using a madcatz TE fightstick, the input delay is pretty bad, but only in game. When I run jstest, there is no noticeable delay. Any ideas on how to improve this now or in future updates?
